Service details

Find out more about The Parlour Service and what it entails:

Our parlour service offers a peaceful and comforting space in which to remember your loved one. At one of our Dignity parlours, among family and friends, you can pay respects and celebrate the life that has passed. Services can last up to an hour, and are presided over by a minister or celebrant.

If you wish to hold your loved one’s funeral service in one of our purpose-built parlours, speak to a funeral arranger or director at our Laird & McMillan funeral home.

Our alternative choice of funerals

If you are uncertain of whether the Parlour Service is right for your loved one, you can find out more about our other options below:

The Attended Funeral

The Attended Funeral provides a tailored and dignified goodbye for your loved one. Whether traditional or contemporary, you can pay your respects in the supportive company of family and friends.

The Unattended Funeral

The Unattended Funeral is a lower cost option that allows family and friends to remember your loved one in their own way, without the need for a traditional service or ceremony.

Memorials

Commemorate your loved one's life with a Memorial to keep their memory alive. Choose from a variety of options, from headstones, urns to memorial plaques, vases, benches, statues, jewellery, and more, allowing you to create something special that reflects their life, love, and cherished memories.

Essential third party costs

Additional costs need to be paid to various third parties in order for The Parlour Service at Laird & McMillan to take place. Find out what these are and why they are necessary:
